Couples Therapy

Therapy Session

A relationship worth staying in is work working on.

Love doesn't disappear. It just gets really hard to find under the laundry, the logistics, and the argument you've had fourteen times!

Life Transitions

Premarital, postparturm, perimenopause, mid-life crisis. caregiver burnout. Life is throwing a lot at you and adjusting is hard. It wasn't supposed to feel like this, but, here you are.

Different Working Styles

One of you works to live. The other lives to work. Neither of you is wrong — but you're not on the same page. The work-life balance is hard enough alone. For two, it takes compromise. And maybe a little therapy.

Parenting Stress

Parenting together is hard; Parenting against each other is exhausting. We know you both love your kids, but, you get misaligned on how to raise them. And the same conflicts keep coming up.

What We Do

How We Do It

My private pay rate is $300/hr for couples and $250/hr for individuals.  I supply a superbill document for insurance reimbursement.

We start by meeting individually first to go over each of your histories. I want to know who you are and what you've been through before we get to your relationship.

We set our collaborative treatment goals - these guide the direction of our sessions and they are things we must agree upon. Under the hood, we're using an integrative model that incorporates Gottman, EFT, and Imago therapies.

In session, you are mostly talking to each other. The therapist guides, educates, and skill builds along the way. No one monopolizes. You get homework. We meet frequently at first and then less frequently as we improve.

"I can honestly say that I do not know where my family and I would be if not for Vito Pelikan. He is a consummate professional, caring, compassionate, and we never feel judged no matter how bad things get. I get emotional writing this because of the positive impact he has had on my family. My family dynamic has changed for the better because of him. I cannot thank Vito enough for what he has done for my family. Do not hesitate to give him an opportunity to help you and yours. My family and I are grateful we met Vito!"
